Kenya Power announces planned maintenance as images on X, usually the evening before, and in weekly PDFs that stay up for a few weeks. Then they disappear. Nobody could say which wards carry the most planned cuts, how long a typical one lasts, or whether their area’s experience is normal.
PawaSwitch keeps every notice since March 2023, places it on the map down to the ward, joins it with population, schools and clinics, and republishes it as open data. Read the method for what the numbers can and cannot say.
